Autonomous Workshops at IIST concluded successfully
The autonomous introductory workshops on the 7th and 8th of November 2009 were completed successfully with all participants gaining hands on experience on programming and simulating autonomous robots and an array of sensors that they may use from proximity to distance and ir along with loads of other sensors.
The workshop was attended by a total of 150 students 75 on each day. The duration was a gruelling 9 hours but at the same time also very stimulating for the participants who were very enthusiastic till 10 in the night, that is when the workshop concluded.
Workshop India thanks Indian Institute of Space Science and technology for giving us a warm welcome and an amazingly talented and enthusiastic student base. Who learnt autonomous from scratch in one day. 90% of the participants had little or no knowledge of robotics and when we started and towards the end of the day they were all programming and developing their bots as well as competing with each other for the best and quickest designs, Kudos to the participants.
Over all an amazing workshop ! !

We teach from the ground up ( video a must watch )
here is something amazing. In our session in Hyderabad on the 18th of October 2009 we came across something really amazing. One of our participants in the workshop on manual and wireless robotics was to our surprise a 6th standard boy, he apparently came along with his sister ! !. This young man after the completion was asked by one of our volunteers if he would like to tell the 100 engineers sitting in the room what he had learn. He promptly walks up to the stage and asks us to start the presentation again, Although a little taken aback we decided to see what he had learnt. What happened later was amazing in every sense. View the video that we have posted along with the blog.
For those of you who don't have the patience to watch the video. He explains the complete circuitry involved in wired and wireless flawlessly to the astounded crowd of 100 engineers sitting in the hall
here is the video click here
We have decided to train him in autonomous robotics by his 8th class free of cost provided his parents allow us.

workshop india launches "school empowerment initiative"
the details are as follows:
workshop on wired and wireless robotics session 1 completed
The first session on manual robotics was a big hit with the students who were divided into teams to practice all the theory that they had learned. The teams cheered after they finished making their bots.
the second half of the session was also very remarkable except for the fact that many of the students could not finish making the circuits completely due to the lack of time as the workshop had already been stretched to 8 hours instead of 6.5. Those students who feel that they need to attend the session again may do so with no extra charge, but the students will have to wait for the workshop on the same topic to happen again in their locality.
THE FREE SEATS ARE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF UNOCCUPIED SEATS IN THE WORKSHOP.

School empowering Initiative
About the initiative:
The initiative aims at providing the Indian student community with a technical and practical edge at par with the best schools worldwide. It has been observed by the company board that the students in India are by far one of the brightest in the world and the only reason that they lack behind students in developed countries is the lack of practical knowledge. This program is a non profit program that the company has initiated with the mission to empower the Indian school children. In this program the company custom designs cources for schools catering to the following:
1. The current exposure level of the students to technology. Based on this we decide which all topics need to be covered and where we need to start.
2. The current board of education that the students belong to. Based on this we decide how to make them practically apply all that they have learnt in the textbooks, so that the students may be able to enjoy and appreciate the knowledge that they have gained in the classrooms.
3.The financial background of the region where the school is located. This is a very important factor as based on this we decide the level of kits we can provide as take away or the students are allowed to work on the company kits which are then taken back by the company.
The company has also conducted or is going to conduct in the near future similar programs in a number of rural schools for free. where we do not charge even out travelling or kit maintenance charges.
The cost of this program will be based on the following factors:
1. The loaction of the school
2. Number of sessions requested.
3.Total number of participants.
4.Level of the program requested.

cansat ( satellite in a tin can )
Introduction
Cansats are complete Satellite like sub-systems built inside a 330ml soda can. For more details contact us at workshopindia@gmail.com or Google it!
Cansat consists of the following subsystems:
1. An on-board computer which runs a custom made operating system and performs all the data processing and controlling jobs of the satellite.
2. A communication system used for establishing a link with the ground station.
3. Sensor Payload which may contain a vast array of sensors ranging from temperature and humidity sensors to image sensors.
4. Navigation system. A complete system which may be used to navigate a cansat to a designated position using GPS.
5. Descent Control. This system controls a parachute using a GPS input and stepper/servo motors.
We conduct workshop in three stages:
1. A basic wprkshop on how to build a Cansat and control it wirelessly using a remote.
2. An advanced workshop on Cansats where we teach you payload integration and parachuta controlling as well as data gathering. Control is using wireless remotes.
3. The complete cansat with GPS navigation and the above two.
Demo and Handa-On experience will be given on company kits. Componets list and the Data Sheets will be provided. Software required to simulate the on-board computer and the other components will be provided along with the Tutorial CD.
Tutorial CD provided with all workshops. Tutorial includes videos of the Team assembling and fabricating a Cansat.

robo wireless
the workshop starts with the basics of wireless communication technology and then moves on into the intricacies of modulation, demodulation, protocols , circuitry etc.
during the first 30 mins of the workshop the students are given a detailed insight of how wireless works and how we can make simple wireless circuits using every day material and put it to use in our daily lives.
The second part of the workshop consists of a detailed hands on session on the assembly and operation of the wireless devices. here the students are made to assemble complex wireless circuits during the workshop.
The later part of the workshop is a detailed doubt clearing and debugging session where the students are taught how to solve problems in the wireless circuits that they have made . The instructors cause faults in the circuits and the students are made to debug them. hence giving them a very comprehensive experience of the design and fabrication of these circuits
